KARACHI: Authorities reported Monday that a significant power outage at the Dhabeji pumping station is causing problems for the port city’s water supply.
All pumping activities at the station were stopped at 9:15 a.m. due to the breakdown.
A representative for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) stated that the repair work will result in a 100 million gallons per day (MGD) shortfall in the city.
At 10:45 am, the electricity was restored, enabling the water delivery to restart via alternate lines. Nevertheless, the breakage had an impact on two crucial lines, Line No. 1 and Line No. 5.
