According to a new ranking by data company Numbeo, among of the world’s most affordable cities are Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
The world’s largest database of user-contributed data about cities and countries worldwide is used to generate the Cost of Living Index 2024 of the global cities.
Comparing Pakistan’s three main metropolises to the most costly cities worldwide, they come in last.
Karachi
The port city’s Rent Index is 2.9 and its Cost of Living index is 19.0, according to the ranking. The port city’s total Cost of Living and Rent Index is 11.3, placing it near the bottom of the list.
Additionally, its local purchasing power and restaurant price index are both 17.6, while its groceries index is 17.6.Lahori
Conversely, the second-biggest city in Pakistan is ranked second-last by Numbeo.
Its rent index is 2.9 while its cost of living index is 19.0. Lahore’s total rent and cost of living index is 11.3.
Furthermore, its local purchasing power index is 27.3, its restaurant price index is 15.7, and its grocery index is 16.3.
