SUKKUR: In a tragic event, a female lecturer in grade 17 in the New Saeedabad tehsil of Sindh’s District Matiari fell prey to the shabby custom of Karo Kari.
A form of premeditated honor killing known as “karo-kari” is mainly carried out against women who are believed to have dishonored their families through extramarital or premarital affairs.
Reports state that Imdad Jamali killed his wife, Afshan Jamali, at Bakar Jamalia Higher Secondary School by shooting her.
The suspect, who was apprehended by police after they arrived at the scene, confessed to shooting his wife in response to a Karo Kari charge.
He also claimed to have married Afshan a few years prior and accused her of having an affair.
