ISLAMABAD Defense Minister Khawaja Asif questioned the sincerity of the Imran Khan-founded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in talks with the coalition government on Monday, expressing his surprise at the recent shift in the party’s conduct.
“I keep asking what happened to the person [PTI founder Imran Khan] who did not want to shake hands with us [is now desperately seeking dialogue with the government],” the defense minister said, calling it a “complete U-turn.”
Speaking on the “Aaj Khan Kay Sath” show on News, the minister went on to say: “I do not see sincerity in PTI [leadership].”
His comments followed National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s official call on January 2, 2025.
