Kim Kardashian is receiving harsh criticism for collaborating with a contentious company.
Celebrity fashion brand Balenciaga revealed the reality TV personality as their newest brand ambassador on Monday. The partnership was announced less than a year after the business came under fire for producing children’s models wearing BDSM-themed merchandise.
Kim stated that the advertising “shaken and disgusted” her, but she refused to break off her relationship with the label at the time.
In November 2022, Kim posted on her Instagram stories, saying, “As a mother of four, I have been shaken by those disturbing images.” Children’s safety must be prioritized above all else, and anything that compromises it has no place in our society at all.
Kim, however, praised Balenciaga’s designs in her most recent statement, citing them as the creator of some of her “most iconic fashion moments.”
“In my opinion, the foundation of this enduring partnership is a shared trust and a dedication to upholding moral principles. I’m thrilled to be the brand’s ambassador and am looking forward to the next phase,” she wrote.
Kim was widely criticized on the Internet, where users criticized celebrity culture in general, saying that famous individuals “don’t have any morals.”
