It appears that King Charles is at a disadvantage as he holds the throne.
His Majesty’s previous life was mostly unknown to the public, and his numerous PR missteps make his new position more difficult for him.
As GB News is informed by expert Luana Ribeira, “King Charles came to the role with his fair share of PR disasters under his belt.”
“It’s difficult from a PR standpoint to start the role as someone people know so much about, and King Charles has largely flown under the radar in the first year or so of his reign,” Ms. Ribeira continued. He has, understandably, refrained from taking any actions that would be viewed as blatantly problematic and has maybe been a more subdued monarch than many may have anticipated.
“He has had setbacks, such as the video when he was shown becoming irate about a pen, but his family dynamics have been the primary source of his problems.
“Apart from the inevitable scrutiny of his relationship with his younger brother Prince Andrew, his son’s legal troubles with the press and his strained relationship with Prince Harry will have caused King Charles and his PR team a major headache.”
“But I think King Charles has been wise to remain quiet on these matters.”
“The sixth series of The Crown, with its first half centering on the death of Princess Diana, will have added to his woes,” Ms. Ribeira stated.
.
“Although the show’s portrayal of his character was largely sympathetic, it will have inevitably stirred up the public’s emotions surrounding his first marriage and the way Diana was treated in a way which I imagine King Charles would have rather done without.”
