Seemingly under pressure, King Charles declines to extend an invitation to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to celebrate Christmas with the family.
The monarch is “deeply nervous” to host Kate Middleton and Prince William, according to people close to the couple.
The royal insider told Vanity Fair, “The King would love nothing more than to spend Christmas with his sons and all of his grandchildren, but it is not that simple and there is no chance the Sussexes will be coming.”
The fact that there is still a great deal of animosity toward Harry and Meghan, especially from the Prince and Princess of Wales, would make matters extremely challenging.
They went on: “There have not been many conversations because Charles is also extremely apprehensive about the possibility that the Sussex camp will leak them.
Together with his son Prince Archie and wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry departed the Royal Family back in 2020. A public airing of their complaints on television followed, with the couple accusing the Royal Family of showing racism towards their son. Currently residing in California, Harry and Meghan welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet, there as well.
