On Thursday, Donald Trump accepted King Charles’ invitation to travel to Britain, becoming the first elected political figure in modern history to be invited by a British monarch for two state visits.
Ahead of official meetings, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer presented Trump with a letter from Charles in front of media at the White House.
Trump studied the letter right away, making sure it had the King’s signature in it before calling it “beautiful” and displaying it to the cameras.
“This is very unique. This has never occurred before. After telling Trump, “This is unprecedented,” Starmer gently pressed him for a response to the invitation.
