The king, who is renowned for supporting environmental causes, spoke at the event’s launch in Dubai last year.
The 75-year-old King is still receiving treatment for an unidentified type of cancer.
He will, however, put it on hold for his 11-day trip to Australia and Samoa, which starts next week, since he is away from home on a royal visit.
On the recommendation of the doctor, the plan to visit New Zealand was canceled, and the remaining dates were rearranged to include extra time for relaxation.
A representative for Buckingham Palace stated, “We’ve had to make some difficult decisions about the program,” when the trip was announced.
Since revealing his cancer diagnosis in February, the King has only been abroad once, to Normandy in June for the D-Day observances.
Less than two weeks after the royal family’s lengthy journey return to the UK, COP29 gets underway in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 11.
