PESHAWAR: According to The News on Sunday, the federal government reportedly agreed to appoint Shahab Ali Shah to the important position on the CM’s proposal, meaning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is set to get the chief secretary of his choosing.
On condition of anonymity, a senior government source informed the journal that Gandapur had been trying for a long time to get the two top officials in KP that he wanted—the chief secretary and the inspector general of police.
However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s protest against the federal government to free party founder Imran Khan prevented this from happening earlier.
Gandapur’s relationship with the federal government suffered as a result of leading two significant protest marches on Islamabad while serving as chief minister.
