On Saturday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) declared that 14 terrorists involved in the recent bloodshed in the Kurram area will receive head money ranging from Rs3 million to Rs30 million.
Kurram has been plagued by violence for decades, but a recent round of warfare that began in November of last year when two different convoys traveling under police escort were ambushed, killing 40 people, has murdered about 150 people.
The CTD said in a statement that all of the terrorists were connected to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and that the accused were responsible for the murders of more than 200 persons.
