The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has doubled the hospital slip cost at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, one of the main public hospitals in the province, from Rs20 to Rs50.
Spokesman Muhammad Asim said that the hospital’s Board of Governors has approved an increase of Rs30 in the emergency and OPD slip fees.
A representative for LRH said, “Decisions of this nature are required to maintain the hospital’s operations.”
He went on to say that expenses have been reduced and that all equipment and machinery purchases have been put on hold.
