The movement’s leaders, Sardar Muhammad Yusuf, MNA, Dr. Shaista Jadoon, Prof. Sajjad Qamar, former senator Talha Mehmood, former deputy speaker of the National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, and Sardar Shahjehan Yusuf, highlighted at a press conference at the National Press Club that their call for a new province was rooted in administrative concerns, not linguistic or ethnic factors.
“The need for better governance is the only basis for our demand,” Sardar Yusuf stated. He asserted that resolutions in favor of a distinct Hazara province had been approved twice by the KP Assembly.
