Speaking candidly about her experiences in show business, Kristen Dunst credited her mother for helping her stay away from the predatory aspects of the industry.
The Spiderman actress described a “improper” incident that happened when she was sixteen in a recent interview with the Telegraph.
She recalled being called into a male director’s office to discuss a desired role, and that male director—whom she declined to identify—asked her inappropriate question out of the blue while she was there. “A male director had me in his office, by myself and was asking me about this movie he wanted me for,” she recalled.
“To be honest, I don’t even know if he’s still employed; I don’t like to think about it.However, I will clarify that his remarks had nothing to do with acting and weren’t merely “a bit off.” It was completely inappropriate. She continued, “And I remember knowing that something wasn’t right while I was sitting there, but I had no idea what to do.”But when the young star told her mother about the startling remark, she disclosed, “That was the end of it; she told them I wouldn’t be making the film and withdrew me from the process.”
