KURRAM: Two more people were killed and ten more were wounded in new shooting events, according to sources who spoke to News, adding to the death toll from continuing tribal conflicts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s District Kurram.
The most recent wave of violence, which is now in its tenth day, has killed 124 people and injured 178 more, according to police confirmation.
There is a communication blackout in the Kurram region, with educational institutions closed and internet and cellphone services blocked.
The local government claims that everyday life and business operations have been hampered by the ongoing shutdown of the main Peshawar-Parachinar route.
Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud stated that ongoing talks with representatives from both warring factions are part of the ongoing efforts to bring about peace.
