PESHAWAR: According to Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information, the government will implement further security measures to guarantee enduring calm in the Kurram district, which has been plagued by violence.
The spokesperson for the KP government stated that 400 police officers have already been authorized for the purpose of securing the Kurram highway and that new police checkpoints will be set up in addition to the deployment of two platoons of the Frontier Constabulary (FC).
Barrister Saif’s comments follow the signing of a 14-point peace deal by the two Kurram warring tribes on Wednesday, after days of negotiations aimed at bringing about peace in the region following weeks of bloodshed.
