According to KWSC, a five-person committee has been established to issue licenses and announce new water boring policies.
Industrial sector licenses are good for two years.
The fine for illicit sales and water theft is Rs. 5 million.
Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, the CEO of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), stated on Saturday that the organization has implemented new groundwater boring policies to prevent water theft and guarantee government revenue.
The water supply company announced that the permit to take groundwater in industrial areas will be good for two years.
Additionally, since meters will be installed on all previous licenses, those licenses will all be suspended.
