After Mr. Staunton and Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch got into a public spat, Shadow Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said the public deserves “a swift and decisive resolution to these conflicting accounts”.
After an increasingly heated spat that started over the weekend, shadow business secretary Jonathan Reynolds said that there were still “significant discrepancies” in the statements made by Mr. Staunton and business secretary Kemi Badenoch.
Mr. Staunton, who lost his job as chair of the Post Office last month, stated in an interview with The Sunday Times that he was instructed to postpone paying sub-postmasters in the lead-up to the election due to financial worries.
MPs were informed by Ms. Badenoch that the allegations were “completely false” and that there was “no evidence whatsoever” for this.
