On Thursday, the party’s “plan for business” will be unveiled by the leader in front of hundreds of central London businesses.
At an event in central London on Thursday, the party leader and his shadow chancellor, Rachel Reeves, will welcome hundreds of investors and business executives in an effort to gain support from the business community before the next election.
Sir Keir will assert that the large number of C-level executives in attendance at the event demonstrates the “depth of the changes we’ve made to transform the Labour Party’s relationship with business,” adding that he was “extremely proud” of this development.
He will also criticize the Conservatives for their record of 14 years in power.
It is anticipated that the leader of Labour will state: “This country’s wealth creation process is fundamentally flawed, extending beyond the ongoing cycle of catastrophe.
“Fifteen years of stagnant wage growth and a fragile economy that, even in times of peace, cannot offer the security that the working class needs to look forward to not only limits our potential but also tears apart the principles and agreements that bind a nation.
“It undermines the sense that if you work hard and play by the rules, you will have a chance in Britain and the future will be better for your children.”
If Labour wins the next election, Sir Keir will pledge to “deliver growth and prosperity across every corner of the nation” via the party’s five-point business strategy.
