Following the incident’s widespread social media coverage, a security guard was taken into custody on Sunday. A police statement stated that an investigation was in progress and that the suspect had been taken into custody.
It did note, however, that no first information report (FIR) had been filed regarding the occurrence because the victim’s relatives had not stepped forward to file one.
In order to look into the occurrence, the Punjabi government also established a “high-powered” committee. The chief secretary will preside over the committee, which also included the secretaries of the departments of home, higher education, special education, and healthcare, as well as the attorney general, according to a notification from the CM Office.
