LAHORE: According to News on Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz established the Traffic Response Unit in Lahore.
In addition to checking the unit’s motorcycles, Maryam Nawaz met with traffic wardens during the launch to go over their gear, training, and communication methods.
The public address system, which will be used to control traffic flow and notify the public in the event of congestion, was also tested by her.
The Chief Minister gave authorities till the end of the month to enhance traffic control in Lahore. They were also instructed to offer alternate routes for carriages, enforce lane discipline, and launch awareness campaigns for drivers of motorbikes and rickshaws.
She also gave orders to reinstate traffic guidance screens, clear off road encroachments, and install the Intelligent Traffic Signal Management System.
With 50 heavy bikes and 100 professional wardens, the Traffic Response Unit strives to respond to traffic congestion in fifteen minutes or less. Every bike will have a public address system, a first aid kit, and a camera to document events.
Ammara Athar, the chief traffic officer, gave a briefing to the group about the training and skills of the unit, which included a first aid course offered by the Red Crescent.
