The air quality index (AQI) in Lahore fell below 300 on Sunday and stayed there on Monday, indicating that the city’s air quality has improved.
The city that has been covered in haze for nearly a month has seen a good change in conditions, dropping to the fourth position on the list of the most polluting cities in the world, a position it previously held.
A change in wind direction preceded the improvement in Lahore’s air quality.
With a dangerous AQI of 582, New Delhi, India, is currently the most polluted city in the world.
The Punjabi capital maintains its status even if its AQI has improved.
