According to Palestinian authorities, Israeli tankfire killed a physician who was thought to be the last orthopaedic surgeon in northern Gaza.
On his way to work on Thursday, Dr. Sayeed Joudeh passed away.
He worked as a surgeon at the northern Gazan hospitals of Kamal Adwan and al-Awda.
The Israeli military stated it was looking into the event but was not aware of it.
During the war, the grandfather had stepped out of retirement to assist.
He held up a placard that said “Save US” during a press conference held at Kamal Adwan Hospital last month.
It was unsuccessful.
