Ukraine reports that Russian casualties have topped 700,000, as NATO issues a warning about North Korean army deployment.
Ukraine’s military claims that since the start of its conflict more than two and a half years ago, Russia has lost over 700,000 servicemen.
There have been 705,880 servicemen killed, including 1,580 in the last 24 hours, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
There has been no independent verification of these numbers.
They also reported that 329 helicopters, 20,226 artillery units, and 9,233 tanks had been destroyed.
NATO nations today warned that North Korea’s participation represents a “dangerous expansion” after rumors surfaced in recent weeks that the country has dispatched troops to fight in the conflict.
Ten thousand North Korean soldiers have been sent to Russia, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s statement last week.
