Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, a senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, said on Monday that not all cases should be sent to the constitutional bench.
When the petitioner’s attorney informed the judge that the case would be sent to the constitutional court following the passage of the Constitution (Twenty-sixth Amendment) Act, 2024, Justice Mansoor made these comments during the hearing of an overbilling lawsuit involving Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
On a lighter note, the senior puisne judge said, “Leave some cases with us too.”
The judge of the highest court believed that this case did not raise any important constitutional or legal issues. As the case came to a close, the judge mentioned that the petitioner might ask questions in the case that was still pending review.
