The plea to stop the rally anywhere in Punjab was dismissed as inadmissible by the Lahore High Court, which instead ordered the deputy commissioner (DC) to rule on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request for a rally in the city by 5 p.m. today.
It directed the deputy commissioner to make a legal decision on the application by 5 p.m.
PTI filed applications to convene a public meeting, and during the court proceedings, a three-member bench led by Justice Farooq Haider addressed the petitions. Justice Haider noted that the deputy commissioner is required by law to make a determination about the application within the allotted period.
Judge Tariq Nadeem said, “Where has the world reached?” in response to the continuing problems. These problems still plague us.
