They also criticized former President Trump for criticizing the moderators, implying that this indicated he had lost the debate.
“You’ve lost if you’re going to the spin room. On “Morning Joe,” Politico’s Jonathan Lemire stated on Wednesday, “If you’re blaming the moderators, you’ve lost.”
Tuesday night’s discussion between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Trump was mostly regarded as the winner. Following the debate, Trump went into the press room and said to a few of them that he thought the evening went really well.
Throughout the discussion, both moderators repeatedly verified Trump’s claims while neglecting to verify any of Harris’s claims.
News’ Dasha Burns said Wednesday that Trump’s immediate reaction to the debate was telling.
“The former president is going to the spin room, which, traditionally in politics, you don’t do unless you feel like you didn’t do well enough in the debate. He’s now saying, after claiming he’s willing to do another debate, maybe not so much. And he and his team have spent a lot of the day and a lot of last night going after the moderators, going after the network, rather than talking about their candidate’s performance, which I think is pretty telling,” she told José Díaz-Balart.
