Within a year, a well-known social networking platform that competes with WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is expected to reach one billion active members.
This significant figure was disclosed by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov on Tuesday during a conversation with former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.
“Telegram is growing like wildfire,” stated CEO Durov, who was born in Russia.
The 39-year-old businessman started the texting app, which has its headquarters in Dubai, in 2013.
In 2014, under pressure from the Russian authorities, Durov fled the nation where he had launched encrypted messaging created by his brother. “I would rather be free than to take orders from anyone,” he stated.
