Lil Nas X is a well-known musician that Dave Chappelle has chosen to roast in his Netflix program The Dreamer.
During his stand-up routine, the renowned comic jokingly referred to the rapper from Old Town Road as a dreamer and recalled their meeting.
“I know a dreamer when I see one, and I’ve met many powerful dreamers in my life, none more powerful than the man who calls himself Lil Nas X,” he said.
Recounting his encounter with the Georgia rap artist, the 50-year-old said, “I met this * at a party, I had no idea who he was.” However, as soon as he entered that party, I realized I was living his dream. Everyone in the gathering was a fellow idealist.
Dave made fun of Lil’s attire, saying, “Everyone was famous, but that * walked in dressed like C-3PO. He was radiant! And everybody exclaimed, “Oh my God, it’s him!” Lil Nas X is that.”
I had no idea who he was. He came straight up to me, out of all those dreamers, for some reason. “I tried to get you in my video,” he continued. The actor from Half Baked continued, “I had no idea what the **** he was talking about.
“What?,” I exclaimed. Which video? He simply turned to face me and said, “You know what video,” before turning to leave. And I saw him turn to leave. “Man, this * is having a really strong dream,” I exclaimed.
Dave previously caused a storm in the black community when he made clear rude transphobic comments in his The Closer special. Lil, meantime, came out as queer in 2019.
