Lil Nas X responds to the complaints of fans shocked by his new music video, J Christ, after outrage from certain quarters.
The Old Town Road hitmaker talked about the criticism of the religiously themed video on social media.
“Hello to all of you. He started off by saying, “I wanted to clarify where my head has been for the past week, not necessarily by apologizing.
The young artist said, “So first of all, when I did the artwork, I knew there would be some upset people or whatnot, simply ’cause religion’s a very sensitive topic for a lot of people.”
I didn’t mean to make fun, though. This was not a ‘* you to the Christians,’ ‘* you to you people.’ That wasn’t it; I was merely declaring, “I’m back, just like Jesus.”
However, Lil expressed her regret to those whose feelings were offended by the promotional video, which showed some people’s dislike of religious rites.
“However, I will state that I am sorry about it and I do apologize. This is more of an internal decision-making process for me than it is an attempt to win over everyone to my way of thinking.”
He said, “I know I messed up really bad this time, and I can act unbothered all I want but it’s definitely taken a mental toll on me.”
