The DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon has agreed to host an event in February of next year, according to information News was able to obtain from Greg Norman, the chief executive and commissioner of LIV Golf and a former two-time Major champion.
According to sources, the facility would hold a LIV International Series tournament with up to 16 League players and 148 international players as part of the arrangement, which has not yet been legally inked.
Their goal would be to establish a longer-term collaboration in India by competing on the Asian Tour under the International Series umbrella.
Before the first LIV Golf event was held in 2022, LIV announced The International Series, a $300 million investment and ten-year commitment that established an annual series of high-level events approved by the Asian Tour.
Professional golf was rocked by the debut of LIV Golf, when players like Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau defected to the new team structure after being enticed by Saudi Arabia’s billions.
