The Advocate General of Punjab (AGP) came up with a “unique idea” to address the dangerous smog situation in the province after closing schools, requiring half of the employees at public offices to work online, and outright prohibiting the entry of heavy vehicles.
The advocate general informed the Lahore High Court of the government’s long-term smog plan, which includes a “new smog mitigation policy.” “People will be required to sign marriage contracts in October of the following year. In order to combat smog, they will be asked to refrain from getting married in November, December, and January.
The Punjab AG’s comments came as the LHC panel, presided over by Justice Shahid Karim, began deliberating on a series of petitions submitted to address the deteriorating haze.
