The 66-year-old was said to have fallen on Tuesday night from the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas ship, which was approximately 17 miles from Nassau, the capital.
As the search went on into Wednesday morning, the US Coast Guard stated that it was supporting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
The search team included an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and an HC-144 aircraft crew.
According to a Royal Caribbean spokesman, the company is supporting and helping the guest’s family “during this difficult time” and is collaborating with local authorities.
As part of the fan-organized event In My Cruise Era, the ship, carrying a few hundred Swifties, sailed out of Miami, Florida, on Monday.
According to their website, the event, which was organized by travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera, and Shelby Reyes of Marvelous Mouse Travels, was not connected to the artist but did have private activities aboard.
A welcoming cocktail party, karaoke, friendship bracelet exchanges, Taylor trivia, and weekly dress themes were among the activities.
