Pakistan’s first-ever lunar rover is scheduled to travel to the Moon in 2028 as part of China’s Chang’E 8 mission, marking yet another significant advancement for the country’s aspirations in space exploration.
In addition to advancing Moon research, this historic partnership will place Pakistan as one of the few countries using domestic technical innovation to support space exploration.
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has invited the public to submit a name for the lunar rover in an effort to commemorate this accomplishment and involve the country. The contest will have a Rs100,000 cash prize.
