Since Norfolk Constabulary had communication with the woman prior to her death, the force has reported itself to the police watchdog.
Shortly after nine in the morning on Saturday, police were called to the Princes Road address after learning that a woman’s body was inside.
They found a woman who appeared to be in her 30s.
Preliminary results from a Sunday initial Home Office post-mortem examination indicate that the woman’s death was consistent with compression to her neck, according to Norfolk Constabulary.
Adam Barnard, of Great Yarmouth’s Princes Road, is accused of killing the woman.
He is expected to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday after being remanded in custody.
Since Norfolk Constabulary had communication with the woman prior to her death, the force has reported itself to the police watchdog.
Detectives are still pleading with witnesses to come forward if they have heard or seen any suspicious activity in the Prinecs Road area.
