Frank Wainwright hopes to inspire and motivate the future generation to balance outdoor wellbeing with urban living by traveling 32 kilometers a day.
The 2,000-kilometer (3,218-kilometer) circuit winds through six national parks and five national trails, connecting each cathedral city. He’ll spend two months, from July to August, starting and ending in Newcastle.
The 54-year-old Wiltshire resident stated, “The funds raised and the message spread will be utilized to hopefully create a lasting legacy – for young people growing up to make the best of the country that we live in, and to make it even better.”
“Permanent inheritance”
He announced the “epic” endeavor as Frank’s Big Tour of England, or TOE, and claimed it will require a “huge feat of endurance.”
He intends to explore and write about every place he visits while running, stopping to have fish and chips in Great Yarmouth and sprint around York with a Viking helmet.
“I plan to write an epic account of England today,” he stated. “Enjoying every last landmark, village green, museum, and conversation with locals while traveling.
