KARACHI: After being enticed with promises of lucrative jobs, hundreds of Pakistanis have been victims of a massive employment fraud in Cambodia, where they are being held captive and subjected to brutality.
Fraudsters use social media to advertise lucrative IT, contact center, and engineering jobs in Cambodia, said Nauman Siddiqui, director of FIA Karachi.
Pakistani youth are being targeted by Indian recruiters, especially in various Middle Eastern countries, who offer jobs of $1,000 to $2,000 per year.

Based on the people’s statements, Karachi’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) has opened 14 probes and filed two charges.
