Over the weekend, the Palestine Collection, a capsule collection by designer Maria B., was unveiled. The collection consists of T-shirts, two-piece, and three-piece suits with prints of the watermelon, a representation of Palestine’s resistance against Israel, and multicolored houndstooth patterns in addition to the classic black and white keffiyeh.
One of the designs included the Palestine flag wrapped in olive branches next to a map of the country with a youngster deftly incorporated into the design.
Artist Leena Ghani noticed this design and quickly pointed out that it was stolen. She shared Maria B.’s advertisement on her Instagram stories and tagged Palestine Quebec, the page that had highlighted it. The page verified that Turkish artist Hacı Balina Atölye created the original design.
