Elon Musk, the owner of X, is another prominent tech figure with whom the president-elect already has a close and well-known relationship.
However, Trump and Mr. Zuckerberg have never been this close in the past. Following the Capitol riots, Trump was banned from Facebook and Instagram, and he threatened to put the Meta CEO in jail if he meddled in the 2024 presidential election.
Recent events, such as Mr. Zuckerberg dining with the president-elect at his Florida residence, have suggested that the tense relations are improving.
“Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming administration,” a spokeswoman for Meta told the news.
