Eleven Indians lost their lives in a Georgian ski resort over the weekend, including a married couple and a man who should have been celebrating his birthday.
According to family, Sameer Kumar, who had only recently moved to Georgia, passed away above an Indian restaurant in Gudauri with the couple, Ravinder Singh and Gurvinder Kaur.
The 12 dead, including one Georgian national, were thought to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Georgia’s ministry of internal affairs.
According to the Indian government, it is in communication with the relatives of the victims and is making efforts to retrieve the bodies of those who perished in the tragedy.
The remains were found on Saturday, and the first examination reveals no evidence of violence or injuries.
