After 11 persons consumed the fungi on Friday, emergency personnel in Peach Bottom Township, Pennsylvania, were notified.
The Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company reported that they had consumed “toxic mushrooms and were all ill.”
It called the occurrence a “mass casualty incident” and stated that emergency personnel were sent from many nearby counties.
Following their hospitalization, all of the parents and children were in stable condition, according to Delta-Cardiff fire chief Laura Taylor, who was interviewed by local television station.
The Pennsylvania capitol, Harrisburg, lies roughly 56 miles (90 km) southeast of Peach Bottom Township.
