On Friday, the price of gold in Pakistan continued its upward trajectory.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the cost of a tola of 24-karat gold went up by Rs2,200, to Rs249,000.
The cost of ten-gram 24-karat gold also saw an increase, going from Rs1,886 to Rs213,477. On Thursday, 10 grams of 22-karat gold cost Rs195,687.
There was also an upward trend observed in the global gold market. The global rate was $2,404 per ounce at the end of the trading day, down $24, according to APGJSA.
Nonetheless, the price of silver per tola on the local market was steady at Rs2,900.
