Although the 54-year-old Mark Chavez did not enter a plea in Los Angeles, he did sign a plea deal with prosecutors earlier this month to admit to conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
On October 28, of last year, Perry, 54, was discovered dead at his Los Angeles home.
According to court records, the actor, who was born in the US, was using ketamine six to eight times a day when he passed away.
There are five charges against him in relation to his demise.
This comprises Salvador Plasencia, a.k.a. “Dr P,” a physician, and Kenneth Iwamasa, his live-in personal aide.
Among the others accused is Jasveen Sangha, who was mentioned in records.
Chavez consented to assist prosecutors in their pursuit of Plasencia, who he is purportedly associated with in order to supply the actor with ketamine.
Judge Jean P. Rosenbluth granted Chavez bail, conditional on relinquishing his passport and ceasing to practice medicine.
