Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, has urged the government to work with politics to find a solution to the problem of terrorism instead of depending solely on military action. He claimed that the government’s authority has been undermined in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the security situation is rapidly getting worse.
Speaking before the National Assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman made the case that lawmakers have to have more authority and be acknowledged for their significance. While new leadership is required, he questioned the practice of excluding well-known and experienced leaders, arguing that emotional and inexperienced people frequently make things worse.
“Think that the entire nation can be managed like a ‘ghunta ghar,’ (a place where everything is kept secret) is a disingenuous belief,” he declared.
