In a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), urged him to expedite the decision on appeals submitted by different banks against the Federal Shariat Court’s order on the dismantling of the interest-based financial system.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his belief that a comprehensive ruling will provide more comfort to Pakistani Muslims in his letter, applauding the Chief Justice’s recent succinct ruling in the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat case.
The JUI-F leader emphasized the 2022 Federal Shariat Court rule, which required interest to be removed from the banking system within five years.
