Maya Hawke revealed her unfulfilled wish while thinking back on her parents’ divorce—Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.
Before talking about her parents’ circumstances in 2005, Jordana Jacob, 25, read a passage from her piece Our Kinder, Gentler, Nobody-Moves-Out Divorce and claimed it helped her appreciate the difficulties of partnerships.
“I have no illusions—my parents divorced when I was a little child. Maya stated, “Or I’m under slightly fewer illusions,” in the most recent Modern Love podcast episode from The New York Times.
She said, “I think the dream situation is captured by the film Parent Trap,” in response to Martin, the host, asking her to name an ideal scenario she wished had occurred at the time.
