New recommendations about the safe use of social media by physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff have been released by the Punjab Health Department.
An official notification issued on Thursday states that medical practitioners in Punjab are not allowed to talk politics, disseminate unconfirmed material, offer commentary on political figures, or post anything that can spark controversy.
Doctors, nurses, and paramedics are particularly advised in the rules to refrain from posting or sending political comments and to avoid unreliable or incorrect news about the government. They have also been warned not to debate or exchange views on touchy subjects including politics, religion, or specific groups.
Additionally, medical personnel have been told not to post official announcements or rules on social media or to criticize them.
