LONDON: Proclaiming to be superior to all others in race, a British-Asian bartender from east London who attended Oxford University in the past is one among the numerous candidates vying for the coveted position of chancellor of his alma university.
Ryan Ahmad, who has submitted his nomination papers for the university’s chancellor position and is awaiting confirmation in October, claimed to be superior to Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former UK prime minister Theresa May, former foreign secretary William Hague, prominent Labour figure Lord Peter Mandelson, and eminent attorney and former solicitor general of Scotland Lady Elish Angiolini. But recently, a number of well-known figures have declared they won’t be standing.
