Leeds Beckett University will present the singer, better known as Scary Spice and Mel B, with the award in appreciation of her efforts on behalf of victims of domestic abuse.
She described the training as “intense” and “really tough” in an Instagram post since it required her to relive some of her prior traumas.
Furthermore, she stated that she took this action in order to “be able to do more” for the victims of domestic abuse she meets with in the course of her job at Women’s Aid.
“In order to support survivors, I wish to work with ladies’s Aid to assist a great number of additional ladies.
Since she disclosed in her 2018 memoir Brutally Honest that she had experienced abuse at the hands of her former husband Stephen Belafonte, Brown has been a vocal supporter of victims of domestic abuse. He has refuted the accusations.
Brown stated in a different statement: “I wanted to do more than just take home a prize.
“I was accepted as a student on the Trauma Informed Care course, which has been a huge step for me in so many ways,” she continued, in addition to receiving this degree.
