Facebook’s parent company, Meta, said Friday that it is firmly committed to collaborating with Pakistani authorities to find lasting solutions that protect human rights.
The development occurred during a meeting between Miranda Sissons, Global Head for Human Rights Policy at Meta, and Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law, to discuss important topics pertaining to online safety, human rights advocacy, and digital kid safety.
The success of the Ministry of Human Rights’ “Take It Down” campaign, which aims to safely remove harmful and non-consensual information and shield children from online exploitation, was highlighted during the discussion.
The platform’s accessibility is improved with the release of the Urdu version, which reaches more young people in Pakistan.
The ministry’s ongoing dedication to child rights was further emphasized throughout the discussion.
